![]() D.A.R.E. Street Fair Welcomes Lycoming County EMS Day and Friends of Indian ParkMontoursville D.A.R.E. Street Fair 2004 Montoursville D.A.R.E. Street Fair 2005 The Montoursville Police Department and the Montoursville Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the11th Annual D.A.R.E. Fair from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on May 8, 2010 . The event will be held in the 300 and 400 Blocks of Broad Street, Downtown, Montoursville. Proceeds will benefit the Montoursville Drug Abuse Resistance Education or D.A.R.E. program and the Montoursville Police Department D.A.R.E. Scholarship Fund. There will be crafts, food, games and various other fair type activities going on. This is a great community event to promote the positives in our youth and the Montoursville downtown area. This year the D.A.R.E. Street Fair welcomes the Lycoming County Department of Emergency Services and EMS Day. There will be representatives and information from various emergency medical service providers and organizations. If you or your group is interested in participating in the Street Fair either by a stand or providing entertainment, or you need more information please feel free to contact the Montoursville Police Department by calling 368-2488. The D.A.R.E. program offers preventive strategies and fosters resiliency in young people who may be at risk. This educational program, which is brought into the classroom by a specially trained and certified police officer, is designed to help prevent or reduce drug abuse and violence among children and youth. The Montoursville Police Department D.A.R.E. Scholarship is a monetary scholarship presented to a senior who has been accepted to a four year college and majors in the Criminal Justice field.
